The Bibiani circuit court presided over by his Honour Yaw Owuahene Acheamong has passed the final judgment to discharge four kingmakers and two others of the Sefwi Bekwai tradition council who were arrested by the Bibiani Anhwiaso- Bekwai Divisional Command on 7th February, 2019 at Sefwi Bekwai in an attempt to outdoor Nana kwasi Danso a lecturer at Valley View University Kumasi Campus as the new Paramount chief for Sefwi Bekwai tradition council to inherit the late Odeneho Gyapong Ababio.
They are Nana Kwadwo Twum the Acting President of the Sefwi Bekwai tradition council, Nana kwasi Tenakwa ll, the Nifahene, Nana Kwasi Fosu, the paramount chief’s Lindquist, Nana Gyamfi Kumanin ll and others.
They were charged for violating the Public Order Act-1994(491), creating fear and panic and not using the right procedure to outdoor the chief and final not the legitimate king makers to select a candidate for the paramountcy.
The court gave the other factions who were suspected to have instigated/mastermind the arrest of the king makers to provide the court with evidence to denied the kingmakers from installing the paramount chief.
On the issue of violation of the Public Order Act, there were several evidence of official letters written from king makers outfit to seek their permission and requested for protection as well to outdoor the new Paramount chief for Sefwi Bekwai.
Upon these evidences the court deem it as false allegations against the king makers since the other factions has no proper evidence against the Kingmakers and the police charge was also false.
As a result, the court has discharged the Kingmakers as it finds the four as not guilty of any wrong done.
