The New Patriotic party member of parliament for Juabeng constituency in the Ashanti Region Honourable Ama Pomaa Boateng has initiated a social intervention program tailored at empowering women at her constituency.
The initiative known as The Ama Pomaa foundation which is dubbed The Women Initiative (TWI) is in collaboration with the Koforidua Technical University which seeks to give entrepreneurial skills to women in the catchment area of the constituency.
Speaking to the Media after the launch of the program, the Honourable Member of Parliament adviced the beneficiaries of the program to differentiate between personal needs from the business needs when they set up their businesses after the training.
The foundation which commenced with 17 students for fashion and design program is to equip the women with the necessary skills for self employment.
The MP however added that several other programs are in the pipeline with the Koforidua Technical University collaboration to help empower more women for the socio-economic development of Ghana.
