The host of Kessben FM/TV sports  flagship program midfield action Mr Kwabena Gyamfi a hat-trick winner of the best sports host in Ghana but known simply as Joe Laka or “Sir” Joe caught up with the majority leader in the current parliament and minister for parliamentary affairs Honourable Osei Kyei Mensah  Bonsu with parliament currently on recess to talk Sports on kessben FM/TV.

The Once upon a time sports consultant and current member of parliament for the Suame constituency in the Kumasi Metropolis brought his knowledge of the  game to bare when he took his host Joe Laka  to the memory lane by recounting Nigeria’s rise to footballing fame by accurately recalling the 1990 AFCON which Algeria hosted with Rabbah Madjer in his scintillating best, they thumped Nigeria by 5 goals to 1 at the group stages but Nigeria did manage their way to the finals only to lose one nil to the same opponents being the Algerians which happens to be  their only  achievement in the continental footballing silverware to date.

The Nigerian national team  finally ruled Africa in 1994 in Tunisia and also dazzled the world in the FIFA World Cup that was hosted by the United States of America the same year.

The honourable member made these references with regards to the recent appointment of James Kwesi Appiah as the black stars coach and that it was time we supported our own to deliver as success that has eluded as over years with foreign coaches that always fall short at the last hurdle when it comes to delivering to the nation the AFCON title.

He however urged the Ghana Football Association to give Kwesi Appiah unflinching support to enable him deliver for the nation.

The honourable majority leader was also very honest with the 5 stadia proposal whether his party was going to deliver before their first term comes to an end, But He rather said two were feasible to be constructed within the first term and the others will follow suit.
