Ashgold president Dr Kwaku Frimpong resigns

The president for Ashanti gold football club Dr Kwaku Frimpong popularly as ‘Champion’ has resigned from his post has learnt.

The Ashgold team lost to Bechem United on Wednesday leading to series of insults from staunch supporters of the team.The result left the team fifth on the Ghana’s premiere league table, dropping from the third position.

Dr Frimpong resignation comes after the reaction of the fans.
Speaking to Fox Fm sports on Thursday morning monitored by, he said “enough is enough”

“I thank everyone at Ashgold for the opportunity to lead the club. The fans should take their club now,” Kwaku Frimpong told Fox FM on Thursday morning.
“I cannot continue to be president anymore and yesterday what the fans did, I say enough is enough” he said.

The Chief Executive Officer for Ashanti Gold football club, Mr Fredrick Achesampong also has confirmed on Kessbenfm midfield action sports.

However, Mr Acheampong suggest that, Champion’s decision might be from angry so the club will talk to him for his come back.
