Ahanta Chiefs and Youth endorses Kwesi Biney’s bid to become regional minister – A clarion call worth honouring

The chiefs and opinion leaders of the Ahanta land which historically stretches from the PRAH RIVER to the ANKOBRAH have voiced out passionately to throw their weight behind one time ace journalist and one of the distinguished DCE’S of recent memory.

Having successfully gone through the division of the most resourceful region(Western) in Ghana. There comes the agitation, hustle and tussle of who should rightfully lead the Western region substantively at it current state coming from the back drop that the current regional minister Dr. Kweku Afriyie- Sefwi Wiawso and His deputy Mrs Eugenia Kusi- Tarkwa will be splited as natural order takes it course. Dr. Afriyie will ultimately lead the western north region and it will be a major travesty to let go off Mrs Gifty Eugenia Kusi. She will obviously need the partnership of a firm and distinguished leader.

The chiefs looked at how resourceful the Ahanta land has been to the nation coupled with how faithful the Ahanta Land has been to this particular party (NPP) and the numerous qualities and expertise of Hon Kwesi Biney and suggested that he stands shoulders above all other candidates eyeing this role.
The Chiefs whose identity cannot be revealed to protect our customs and values obviously want the ace journalist and one time distinguished DCE of Ahanta West under the erstwhile President Kuffuor to lead the region as the substantive regional minister. He’s been involved with the party’s fundamentals from 1992- date and have overseen numerous party assignments notably the general elections from 1996-date, internal elections in which he contested some and oversaw others. Recently, he was part of the transition team with Madam Gifty Eugenia Kusi, current deputy, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur, head of local government responsible for western, central, Ashanti and Brong Ahafo. Yet all have been rewarded with the exception of Hon. Kwesi Biney. Kwesi Biney hails from Boekrom a town next to cape 3 point the oil rich town in the Ahanta West municipality in the western region. Ahanta west is known to be a pro NPP and it’s a fact that no NPP Presidential candidate has lost there even amidst times where their parliamentary candidates had fallen. Which many believe that the obvious influence of Hon. Kwesi Biney plays a major role in these outcomes.

Some of his achievements as a DCE are Elevation of Baidoo Bonsoe Secondary School, Reconstruction of AGONA market to it current state, District Library, Building of Schools remarkably completing what he met in progress won the admiration of many.

The chiefs believes that it’s time to reward the hard work and obvious influence of Hon. Kwesi Biney as new regional minister of the western region.
