Hon. Bryan Acheampong, the Member of Parliament for Abetifi, has asked philanthropists to take care of the elderly to attract God’s blessing.
Mr. Acheampong who double as minister of state in charge of national security on the 1st of January, 2018 held a reception for over three thousand old men and women aged 65 years and above at Abetifi.
The old men and women received 5kg bags of rice with other groceries at the new year reception which was dubbed “Lets Feed the Elderly”
The MP promised the constituents that he would continue with an open door administration so that they could share ideas and initiate programmes that would bring progress in the area.
Mr. Isaac Agyapong, Kwahu East District Chief Executive, commended the MP for “bringing remarkable improvement in the lives of the people” and pledged the Assembly’s continued support. The DCE also commended the MP for mooting such an idea to help prolong the lives of the elderly in Kwahu East.
The old men and women were full of praise for the MP for his avowed commitment to ensure that the vulnerable and under privileged are given the necessary assistance to serve as pillars in society.
Mr. Acheampong appealed to society to discard the notion of branding the elderly as witches and wizards and rather socialize with them to give them the needed comfort.
