Four people are reported dead while 41 others have sustained various degrees of injury in an accident involving a tipper truck and a Metro Mass Transit bus.
The truck with registration number GE4849-11 is said to have collided with a Metro Mass bus with registration number GN2413-13 on the Aflao to Tema stretch of the Eastern Corridor road.
The accident happened in the same area where some Central University students were involved in an accident and died a few days ago.
Tema Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Juliana Obeng says prelimnary investigations indicate the driver of the Metro Mass likely caused the accident through a miscalculation.
Four of the 45 passengers onboard the Metro Mass bus died on the spot and are currently at the police hospital morgue pending autopsy, she revealed.
The surviving 41 are on admission at the Tema General Hospital.
She described as worrying, the incessant fatal accidents being recorded at the very same spot within this short time.
As an immediate measure, ASP Juliana Obeng said, the police are collaborating with the Ghana Highway Authority to erect speed ramps on that stretch of the road to help speed and prevent any more accidents.
