The chief executive officer National sports authority Honourable Robert Sarfo Mensah has assured his outfit will not witch-hunt but is working prudently to gather more evidence in prosecuting officials who were involved in a $2 million financial misappropriation in 2009.
The then NPP government of ex president Kuffour in 2007 had agreement with the national sports authority to build stadiums across the nation which was to be funded with a whooping $2 million.
In 2009 under the NDC government headed by late Prof. Atta Mills, the monies for the project were fully released to the sports authority for work to begin but unfortunately as at 2017 not a single stadium has been built from the funded project.
According to Sarfo Mensah the current NSA boss, from the auditors general report he has chanced upon since assuming office, there were improper supervision of work and a poor consultation which led to the huge financial malfeasance.
Sarfo Mensah speaking on Kessben TV disclosed the auditors general report also captured only 5 sites where construction work began but have all been left in the hang.
According to the NSA chief, his outfit is not in haste to witch hunt the officials who were involved in the rot but has decided to take time to gather necessary documents in prosecuting which many Ghanaians have been calling for.
Mr Warlanhyo Agrah was the then Chief executive officer of the national sports authority in 2009 when the monies were disbursed for the project.
