The NDC youth wing believe some power brokers in the East Gonja district are working to impose a DCE on them.The youth wing of National Democratic Congress in Salaga in the East Gonja District of the Northern region, has sent a strong word to government that it will kick against any move to impose a District Chief Executive who is not part of five candidates they have shortlisted. They are also cautioning President John Mahamato make his appointment from the list of five approved by the people and leaders in the area. Their press secretary, Baba Iddrisu addressed a news conference in Tamale Thursday, April 11, 2013.

The Judicial Service has served the Electoral Commission copies of the affidavits filed by the petitioners involved in the presidential election petition. The Commission which is the second respondent in the pending case had early on rejected the affidavits served with the explanation that it was incomplete. Director of Communications of the EC, Christian Owusu Parry told Myjoyonline.com he later saw officials of the judicial service offloading documents believed to be the completed affidavits from their vans to be served on the EC.
